Raising Project Management Awareness @ Youth City 2012

For the third year in a row, the Project Management Institute – Arabian Gulf Chapter (Bahrain Office), delivered a presentation introducing Project Management to the Pioneer group at Youth City 2030 for the year 2012, as part of raising the awareness of Project Management amongst the youth population in Bahrain.

The Project Management Institute – Arabian Gulf Chapter (Bahrain Region) delivered a presentation introducing the art of developing powerful presentations via applying the principles of project processes to the structuring of presentations. The presentation took place at the Bahrain Society of Engineer (BSE) on the 21st of May, 2012.

The Project Management Institute – Arabian Gulf Chapter (Bahrain office) delivered a presentation introducing Project Management to the young pioneer members of AIESEC Bahrain titled as “Project Management Skills for Life”.

PMIAGC Bahrain 2nd Monthly Meeting in 2012

The Second Monthly Meeting of PMIAGC Bahrain took place on 7th March 2012 at the Seminar Room of Bahrain Society of Engineers. More than 30 project managers attended and they discussed over a period stretching for more than 2 hours a range of issues relating to the plan of activities for 2012 and beyond. Some of the topics included proposals for:

1. Running a Schedule Management as Low Fee Workshop

2. Organising CAPM course as these ares markedly different from PMP one.

3. Debating a topic such as OPM3 against other Organisational Project Management Methodologies.

4. Partnering with more Public and Governement sector organizations

5. Creating a Forum for our membership to benefit from the presence of the varied skill sets, knowledge areas and expertise of locals and expatriates.

6. Proposing a Quiz/Light Entertainment Night. Possibly a Breakfast Meeting.

7. Organising a Project Management Day with 2 streams – one for beginners (to attract them to Project Management as a career) and another for more senior managers.

It was agreed that the Monthly Meetings were extremely important for the membership base and their schedule should not be allowed to slip away.

PMI-AGC Bahrain Board Members discuss and finalize the 2012 Charter

The executives of Project Management Institute - Arabian Gulf Chapter Bahrain, under the chairmanship of Majeed Al Gassab met on the 23rd of January 2012 to discuss and finalize the 2012 charter. The charter discussions were led by Vice chairman of the Chapter Abdul Nabi Al Sabah.
